Blog Post: Effects Of A Recession On Employment

posted Wednesday, April 23, 2008 7:31 AM

I keep being told that the economy is in a recession and that it is going to be tough for everyone currently looking for employment.  I do not  believe that.  This is a country of opportunity and it always will be.  The resolve of the employer and employee will be tested today more than ever.  Employers will have to start focusing on the employee who is the number one asset in a company.  While the employee, will have to prove there value more than ever.

Tips for an Employee:

Maintain a strong relationship with your supervisor,

Work hard to execute the tasks assigned,

Think outside the box on ways to add value to the business.

Tips for an Employer:

Assist the employee in executing the agenda you set for them

Support them on the initiatives

Set realistic requirements

If you follow these initiatives, you will succeed in achieving success.
