Blog Post: Students Awarded Scholarships At AZ SHRM Conference

What a fantastic two day event!  The Arizona SHRM State Conference has come to a final close this afternoon with great scholarship awards that were given to two very deserving SHRM students.  Coral Martinez , Ottawa SHRM Student Chapter President, and Melissa Moreno, ASU SHRM Student Chapter President were awarded scholarships from both SHREC and SMA.

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Coral Martinez who is the Ottawa SHRM Student Chapter President.  Coral was awarded a fantastic scholarship of $2000 and a paid registration to the conference from the Senior Human Resources Executive Council.  The scholarship was awarded to Coral for having a GPA of 3.0 or higher and for completing 10 semester hours of course work in an HR major or HR emphasis area.  Coral also received a scholarship for an all expense paid PHR Exam preparation class and paid PHR Exam fee from Staffing Management Association.  She was excited to receive the scholarship and said “getting involved with the student chapter has given me the opportunity to learn about the scholarships offered to students and has also increased my networking opportunities.”

Congratulations to Coral Martinez and Melissa Moreno for being awarded such fantastic scholarships and also for their great leadership in their SHRM Student Chapters.
