Blog Post: Why You Shouldn’t Take a Holiday Break From Your Job Search

As the Holiday season approaches you may be tempted to ease up on your job search. While you may be focused on travel and festivities, keep in mind that this is a prime time to land a new job. For starters, there are many possibilities in seasonal hire, (click here to read more on the benefits of seasonal work to your permanent job search). It is also important to understand the career opportunities the end of the year brings. Many employers with open positions want new hires to begin training in January; which means they are looking to complete the hiring process in December. Another point to consider is several employers will be working on the 2009 budget this December as well. This means companies want to account for new additions to their organization now. Doing so assists them in future budget planning. So, while you may be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season, remember that employers are preparing for a new year. Now is the perfect time for you to show them why you will be a great addition to their team going into 2009.
