Blog Post: Prepare for a Great First Impression
posted Thursday, January 29, 2009 2:05 PM
Ever wonder if going above and beyond to make a great impression really has an impact? Trust me, it does! When attending a job fair or networking event, employers notice participants who are dressed professionally and are well versed in their 30 second commercial. They also notice who has done their research on the skills needed for specific job types. For example, someone who is interested in a customer service position should be prepared to describe in detail their skill set used to help increase customer satisfaction. So take the time to prepare for events where you will be speaking with employers-you only have the opportunity to make a first impression once and it will truly pay off in the end!
Looking for an opportunity to talk with employers? Chandler-Gilbert Community College is having a Career Networking Event on February 12th from 10am to 1pm. Visit www.cgc.edu/careers for more information.
