Blog Post: TIPS TO AVOID THE LAYOFF
posted Friday, February 6, 2009 2:28 PM
I just wanted to rattle off a few tips if you are worried about an impending layoff. Some of these habits could land you at the top of the list.
1- don’t surf the Internet at work or use your cell phone to text 2- don’t be absent unless you absolutely have to...that means vacations too! Out of site, out of mind. 3-Not busy? Ask for more work 4-Please do not 'brown nose' the boss 5-Find ways to reduce costs for the company..even if they are small 6-Paste a smile on your face even if it kills you 7- Avoid the negative people that hang out in the break room or lunch room Before you get laid off, develop a battle plan for what you will do after. Join networking groups like: Linked in, Face book, Toastmasters, etc. Get networking contacts from friends and family. Remember that 'chance favors the prepared mind." I heard that in a Steven Seagal movie. FOR MORE INFO OR TIPS SEE: Blog Address: www.momentumstaffing.wordpress.com You tube: www.youtube.com/user/MichaelHayesSpeaks
