Blog Post: MWC Offers No-Charge Personal Budget Workshops for Job Seekers

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Maricopa Workforce Connections is adding Budget Basics to the list of its no-charge workshops for job seekers in March. A full-service financial planner specializing in client education and individual financial solutions will offer guidance on establishing and managing a personal budget.

“An overwhelming number of the job seekers in the County’s One-Stop Career Centers ask for help in preparing a personal budget. We are not in the business of providing financial guidance but are in a position to make connections to those who are,” said Janet Lilly, MWC’s Training and Assessment Supervisor.

Salas Vision Financial will provide an hour-long workshop for job seekers in need of assistance establishing a basic personal budget. In addition, the workshop will cover:
• Examining financial position
• Controlling credit card/debt
• Managing taxes
• Minimizing risk
Job seekers are invited to attend Budget Basics workshops on March 20 or March 27 at either of MWC’s two comprehensive One-Stop Career Centers -- West Valley sessions will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. and Gilbert sessions from 2-3 p.m.
