Blog Post: Solid Business Ethics Start at the Top

The American Society of Women Accountants Mesa East Valley Chapter is holding our fall student night on October 13th to reach out to local accounting students. This evening will give them an opportunity to network with experienced professionals and hear a great presentation on business ethics.

It will take more than ethics training to prepare them for their roles as future accounting and financial professionals. The companies they join after graduation will need to continue to support and reinforce those early ethical teachings. A company’s culture must embrace ethical behavior and any reward system must encourage not discourage doing the right thing. This culture is dependent on the tone at the top. If the C-Suite is not held accountable to maintain high ethical standards, no Code of Ethics or Ethics Hotline will create a true ethical culture.
