Blog Post: To Mark National Family Violence Awareness Month
posted Saturday, October 3, 2009 2:52 PM
Yesterday I had the privilege of doing a presentation at Sojourner Center, the largest Domestic Violence Shelter in the United States. Although it’s the largest there are often not enough beds and women and children still get turned away. Sojourner offers incredible services which span a variety of needs; and your support is vital. Even though the group I spoke to wasn’t large the presentation was meaningful. The managers and business owners from area businesses learned DV had a greater degree of workplace impact than they thought. They considered specific people they were concerned about, they gathered resources and knowledge; and now I have every confidence they’ll apply it in their businesses – and in their communities. Tags
