Blog Post: Volunteer Opportunities

One way to keep busy and engaged during the job search process is to find a worthwhile organization to do volunteer work for.
While we at Scottsdale Job Network would like to see all of you volunteering to help us run the group, grow the membership, improve the career transition process training programs and so forth, that is not always within the realm of possibility or interest for a particular job seeker. For those who are looking for some additional opportunities to get involved with your community in a volunteer effort during your job search, there are some opportunities available from the City of Tempe listed below:
Volunteer Fair at Tempe Public Library TEMPE, Ariz. - Looking for ways to help your community? Get involved by volunteering at the Tempe Center for the Arts, the Tempe Public Library, the Tempe Historical Museum and more. Learn about all the available opportunities at Tempe's annual Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the lower level Program Room in the Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Rd. Representatives from more than 20 organizations around the community will be present to answer your questions and tell you how you can help. Refreshment will be served. Other groups recruiting volunteers at the event will include Experience Corps, CARE7 Crisis Response Team, the Petersen House Museum, Volunteers In Policing and more. For more information, call the Tempe Volunteer Office at 480-350-5190. Thank you, Community Comments
