Blog Post: Volunteering With A Taste, Try It You'll Like It

The Scottsdale League for the Arts and the Scottsdale Cultural Council invite you to volunteer for the 30th Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival. The signature event, the Great Arizona Picnic, provides fun opportunities for volunteering and tasting the Valley’s finest culinary and beverage delights.

Proceeds from the Festival benefit arts and arts education programs throughout Arizona and we rely on dedicated community volunteers to staff more than 150 positions on the festival grounds. In total we need around 400 volunteers.  Volunteering for the Festival is a great way to share your enthusiasm and support for the arts and host a great party. Come join in the fun! 

Time slots available:

Saturday, April 12th 10:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.
Saturday, April 12th 4p.m. - 10p.m.
Sunday, April 13th 11a.m. - 6p.m.

Volunteer Benefits

Tasting Coupons
Volunteers will receive 10 food tasting coupons for each shift worked.

Come-Back Pass
Use this pass on your off-day to come back to the Festival and experience the event at your leisure.

Training
All volunteers, new and returning, are required to attend one of the training sessions to learn about all the necessary details and logistics about the Scottsdale Culinary Festival.

Training dates:
Wednesday, April 2nd: 6pm to 7:30pm- Scottsdale Library
Saturday , April 5th: 10am -11:30am-Center for the Arts Stage 2

T-Shirts
Volunteers will receive a special Culinary Festival T shirt to wear during their shifts.

Easy Parking 
Reserved parking near the Volunteer Registration Tent.
 
Volunteer Opportunities

Entrance Gates
Be the first to greet Festival guests. Volunteers need a smiling face and friendly attitude to collect admission fees, distribute programs, answer questions and make guests feel welcome.

Beverage Booths
Volunteers who enjoy a fast-paced environment serve soft drinks and alcohol to thirsty guests. Must enjoy working with the public and be at least 19 years of age.

Ticket Booths
Volunteers need a smiling face and friendly attitude and good hands to sell food and beverage tickets to Festival patrons.  

Location

The Scottsdale Culinary Festival spans the 21 acre Scottsdale Civic Center Mall, located in Old Town Scottsdale adjacent to the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.
