Blog Post: Finding a focus and a forte

Have you ever worked on 5 projects at the same time? Or supported 30+ types of systems, projects or processes? It is very diversified and can be a lot of fun. But, have you ever wanted to really get deep into something, know everything about that particular something and be able to answer anything anyone ever asks? I bet you have.
In the technology arena, we often times are asked to wear so many hats we don’t know if they match or not. There are opportunities out there that do allow you to have a new found focus. The ability to strive and grow up a path that allows for back filling of positions, allowing you to become the knowledge center. How do these positions happen? Typically by having a focus or a specialization. The days of past of focusing in C or being the resident expert on COBOL are gone (or, at least don’t allow for the growth we are talking about). A new focus around process and executing successfully around those processes are the new key/focus allowing for serious growth and personal accomplishment. Examples of the types of processes I am talking about are:
These types of styles of jobs allow for a focused environment without limiting yourself to what other future technologies might offer. Allow yourself a focus and you might find it to be a great forte for you.
