Southwest Ambulance was founded in late 1982 with one ambulance and has grown to more than 1000 employees and 225 vehicles. Southwest Ambulance is a premier private ambulance provider serving more than 25 communities. We received more than 275,000 calls and conducted more than 200,000 transports a year.

We've grown into one of the nation's largest medical transport providers by being easy to work with, and making sure we have the highest level of customer service. We are currently the largest ambulance provider in Arizona

Our Central Arizona Unit is a good example.  In the past few years, trust between labor and management have led to the creation of a 20-year pension for field employees under our union's collective bargaining unit.  Making Southwest Ambulance the first private ambulance provider in the country to offer a pension similar to what many municipal fire and ambulance workers receive.

Together, a representative of management and labor co-chair many company committees that make decisions on issues such as dress codes, shift schedules, government relations, training and more. Employees at all levels are invited to attend committee meetings.
