History
Adelante Healthcare is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center formed in 1979 and incorporated in 1980 through a collaboration of community agencies who organized Surprise and El Mirage, Arizona residents to lobby for improved health services in the then-rural area. In response to community needs, clinic staff expanded rapidly over the years, from a staff of 12 with 2.6 providers in 1982, to a staff of 174 with 19 full time providers in 2005. Today, Adelante Healthcare is an important part of the healthcare safety net and continues to expand services.

Adelante Healthcare is deeply committed to ensuring access to primary care services for members of our communities.  We offer culturally competent, community oriented primary health care, outreach, and support services to all residents within our service area, regardless of their ability to pay.

Employment

Our health care professionals serve patients at five family health centers in Surprise, Wickenburg, Buckeye, Gila Bend, and Mesa, a women’s health center in Sun City West, a dental center in Buckeye, and a mobile medical clinic that serves outlying West Valley communities. Our team of 20 physicians and nurse practitioners and 175 staff members serve more than 30,000 patients annually.
