Arizona Press Women Monthly meetings feature speakers who are published writers or experts in other areas of professional communications. APW also offers an annual contest, mentor program, grant and scholarship opportunities. APW/NFPW is the only organization in the country that sponsors an annual journalism contest for high school students. It also sponsors annual state and national contests for professional communicators. Arizona Press Women bylaws, - in .pdf file Today, our members are women and men from many facets of communications. We are editors, newspaper reporters, television anchors, radio announcers, free-lance writers, public relations executives, scriptwriters, video producers, photographers, educators, students, and managers of communications-related businesses. Our annual Communications Contest, which takes place in January, provides members with the opportunity to compete statewide and nationally in a variety of fields. First-place state winners are sent on to compete at NFPW. Winners are announced at the annual national conference. The annual May APW Conference features seminars and workshops open to the general public and well as the members-only (and their guests) banquet where the Communications Contest winners are announced and celebrated. The High School Contest luncheon honors the individual students and top winning school that took awards in the student journalism contest. APW is currently organized by two Districts: Southern District in Tucson and Central District in the Phoenix area. Contact Us
