As we continue to address the needs of our members through the Five Channels of Engagement - Education, Career, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Lifestyle - the month of May has a strong emphasis on Entrepreneurship. There is a networking luncheon targeted towards Entrepreneurs and the second annual Wells Fargo Entrepreneur Award.
There will continue be several opportunities and forums to express your expectations of the chapter. There are also opportunities for leadership within the chapter.
It is my commitment to you to provide programs and events that are regularly scheduled and relevant. In exchange, your attendance and support of the programs and events is needed to have a strong, vibrant chapter.
NEXT EVENT - Deadline for National Entreprenuer contest May 30, 2008
2007 was the initial awarding of the National Black MBA Association® / Wells Fargo Entrepreneur Excellence Award. The 2008 Award will be modified and expanded to two (2) $5,000 awards. Each nominating NBMBAA® member will receive $1,500. In addition, the nominating chapter will also receive a cash grant of $1,000 to further support African American entrepreneurs. All three winners will be honored at the Annual Conference in Washington DC in September.
