Sun Devil Fire Equipment, Inc. is a leader in the fire protection/equipment market in Phoenix, AZ which is one of the top five fastest growing cities in America. We have been in business since October 1986 and are locally owned and operated. We sell, install, and service fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lights, restaurant fire suppression systems and backflow prevention devices. We have three locations throughout Arizona providing service to the entire state. Our main office is located in Phoenix, which is the largest and also the capital city of Arizona.
Job Description: Performs tasks related to the sales, estimating, and maintaining job costs to support and/or grow the special systems team. (Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV, Access Control, FM 200 Systems) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Create relationships with various General Contractors, Electricians, direct to new and existing customers to aid in selling SDFE special systems installations. 2. Create detailed take offs from drawings to include reviewing and understanding construction drawings including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Kitchen, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm and TI drawings for systems installation for commercial ground up and TI jobs. 3. Request bidding opportunities from GC’s, Electricians and owners. 4. Submit and track bids. 5. Manage bids as project progresses to include interface with multiple vendors and change orders. 6. Multi-tasking is essential and capability of handling deadlines on a continuous basis 7. Capable of thinking on your feet to discuss fire code requirements with a good understanding of NFPA 72, all local jurisdiction fire code requirements. 8. Basic understanding of all local fire codes and security code requirements. 9. POSITIVE ATTITUDE, CONFIDENCE AND PATIENCE ARE A MUST!!! 10. Solid base of outside sales experience with connections in construction. 11. Able to develop, foster and grow networking channels PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS 1. Sales revenue target. 2. Multiple estimates completed on time and accurately. 3. Good communication and coordination exist. Assistance and support are provided as needed. 4. Management is appropriately informed of area activities. Skills / Requirements
Planning and organizing
Management skills Customer relationship skills Ability to read CAD drawings Attentive to detail and accurate. Cooperative and willing to assist others. Able to use computer applications. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of fire codes. Project Management. Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with basic accounting concepts. Typing or keyboarding experience required Preferred At least five years of directly related experience in fire alarm and security system sales and estimating. Field experience a plus. Important Notes
