Job: Controller

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President/ Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the financial functions of the gaming operation, including financial statement generation, operational analysis and routine processing of all accounting information such as payables, payroll, and account reconciliation. Has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Assistant Controller and the Purchasing Manager.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university required; advanced degree or CPA certification a plus; 7 years experience of fulltime professional level accounting work, with experience in financial operations in the hospitality and/or casino industry required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong PC skills and broad knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Must be a fully involved manager and be able to work harmoniously with both employees and other management personnel. Must have good knowledge of general accounting theories, principles and practices with a solid knowledge of general budgeting principles and practices. Must be skilled at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with State, Federal and Community Officials and Managers. Must be skilled in understanding the application of complex rules, regulations, procedures and guidelines. Must be able to multitask, motivate staff and hold employees accountable for performance.
