Central Arizona Project (CAP) is the largest supplier of renewable water in the state of Arizona. The Engineering Services Department provides engineering expertise, construction project management, technical services, and support to CAP. We have one open position for a well qualified Construction Contract Specialist or Construction Contract Administrator to guide CAP in administrating our construction contracts. The Specialist is the focal point for JOB Order Construction Contracts (JOC) and assists in the Design, Bid, Build (DBB) construction contracts and ensures compliance with legal, technical, and contractual requirements. The Administrator position administers the construction contract from contract development through close-out and is relied upon for expertise and experience and guides the CAP in solutions to difficult contractual issues that comply with Arizona State procurement law and CAP policy. Skills / Requirements
The Specialist position requires an Associates degree in business or engineering plus five (5) years experience in related field with at least four (4) years construction contract administration experience on contracts ranging $5 million or more. The administrator position requires a Bachelors degree in business or engineering plus five years of total experience in construction contract administration or other highly related contract administration field. Contract Specification Institute (CSI) Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), or other nationally recognized contract administration certification is highly desired.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience administering construction contracts including bidding, awarding, processing of progress payments, negotiating contract modifications, and contract close-out; the ability to make sound decisions and judgments based on construction contract law, contract documents, and past construction contract experience; demonstrated experience with, understanding of, and application of Arizona Revised Statues Title 34; experience developing, reviewing and editing construction contracts specifications and documents; and strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
