Overview: Banner Health, Arizona's largest healthcare provider has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Intake and Assessment Therapist. Position will be located at Banner Scottsdale located at Erall and Miller and will have a varied scheduled based on department needs. This is a Pool position. Responsibilities: The purpose of this job is to assess and coordinate behavioral health care in Banner Behavioral Health Hospitals to ensure the most appropriate level of care in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as facility policy and procedures. This includes provision of crisis assessment and support to patient and family members who are experiencing serious psychological or psychoactive substance abuse disorders. Therapists must liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams within Banner Health and with outside agencies.

Masters degree in a behavioral health field, state certified or certifiable within 6 months from the date of employment. Prefer previous crisis intervention experience. A registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience in a psychiatric setting and one year of crisis intervention experience will be considered. Must take a minimum of 5 on-call periods per month. Masters degree preferred.Must be able to work with a diverse population including child, adolescent, general adult, and older adult populations as demonstrated by knowledge of specific age appropriate assessment and treatment interventions. Ability to identify the full spectrum of mental health and substance abuse disorders as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders for all age related populations and knowledge of all state and federal regulations that pertain to the treatment/transfer of psychiatric patients.
