Job: Loaders Thruput & Quality

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.

Counts, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.

Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers as needed.

Uses RF hand held scanner and/or fixed computer station to enter data.

Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator.

Stacks materials into trailer by stop sequence.

Clamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.

Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power pallet jack.

Assembles crates to contain products such as machine parts and unit items.

Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Communicates any special loading instructions to supervisor/lead.

Communicates with spotter on movement of trailers.

Confirms temperature of trailer before loading.

Cleans work area during and after shift.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Other Qualifications
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
