RN - Transplant/Med/Surg - Job #: 620201
Date: Oct 10, 2009 Location: Phoenix, AZ, US Job Posting: 7333 The Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of outpatient nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and discharge planning. This nurse provides professional nursing care across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. Where nursing care is provided, the nursing process of assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing and evaluating is the basis for care delivered. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. This 36 bed unit is comprised of 12 beds for intermediate care focus and 24 beds for medical and surgical care with a focus on solid organ transplant. INT is a multi-specialty unit with patients who require more monitoring than is available on the medical/surgical floors but do not require care in the ICU. Department: Intermediate/Transplant Qualifications: Must meet one of the following requirements: (1) minimum one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse; (2) minimum five years of current and consecutive experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Mayo Clinic; or (3) minimum five years of current and consecutive experience as a hospital-based, bedside Licensed Practical Nurse. Bachelor of science in nursing preferred. Availability to work flexible hours that may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills preferred. Current RN licensure from Arizona or another state participating in the nurse licensure compact. BLS certification obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained. ECG competency completed satisfactorily within six months of hire and maintained annually. Specialty certifications as required by unit guidelines.
