Overview: The position is at the Banner Estrella Medical Center located in West Phoenix on Thomas Rd between 91st Ave. & the West Loop 101. The RN will support the L & D WIS department by providing pateint care and support in a safe, state-of-the-art environment to women who are or may be experiencing childbirth. This is a part time postiion working night shift from 6:00pm-630am, 24hrs a week 2/12 hour shifts. Days will rotate and vary depending on assigned schedule. Responsibilities: The L/D unit provides management of labor, pre-term labor, labor induction/augmentation, maternal and fetal complications and c-sections (scheduled, urgent, and emergent). Number of Beds; The L/D unit has eleven Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) rooms, two operating room suites, a four-bed recovery room, six OB triage rooms and an outpatient testing area to accommodate those patients requiring additional outpatient monitoring. All rooms are adjacent to the Level IIEQ Nursery and the Antepartum/Postpartum Unit. Department Philosophy As a family-focused unit, members of the L/D staff participate in providing care that is safe, nurturing, therapeutic, outcome-focused and efficient. Desired patient assignment is dependent on patient acuity. The nursing staff works closely with physicians in planning patient care and maintains a positive, collaborative relationship with staff throughout the hospital along the continuum of care. Staff is encouraged to actively participate in unit-based quality assurance and process improvement programs. These activities optimize standards for patient care as well as promote accountability and growth necessary for a productive and professional work environment. Shifts Available 12-hour shifts are available for nursing and OB scrub techs for both days and nights. At this time, it is a requirement that both full-time and part-time staff work every other weekend. Job Description Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with facility and department policies and in accordance with the standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by staff or others who are under his/her direction. The Clinical Nurse utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients in the Labor/Delivery Unit. Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license or temporary Arizona RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job, and demonstrates through behaviors and answers to job-related experiential questions, the ability to demonstrate Service Excellence Standards. 2 - 3 years of current experience in the Labor/Delivery unit is desired.
