Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with minimal supervision from the director of the Consortium for Biosocial Complex Systems (CBCS) to oversee and manage a comprehensive research advancement effort focused 50% on the CBCS and 50% on the Mathematical, Computational and Modeling Sciences Center. Responsibilities focus primarily on writing, editing and submitting grant proposals; preparing, analyzing and forecasting budgets; assisting principal investigators with all aspects of award administration; and identifying prospective funding sources.

The position requires close collaboration with faculty, program and business operations staff and serves as Consortium liaison to the Office for Research & Sponsored Projects Administration while providing a broad array of pre-and post-award administrative services.

Duties also include:
Writing and preparing internal and external reports, boilerplate content and biographies.

Advising on all relevant pre-award, regulatory, compliance and administrative policies and requirements

Communicating with sponsoring agencies

Maximizing use of online and other resources and tools

Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

Department Statement/Gen Info:
The Consortium for Biosocial Complex Systems in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a newly-developed collaboration among the Mathematical, Computational and Modeling Sciences Center, the Center for the Study of Institutional Diversity and the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity and is part of Arizona State University's Complex Adaptive Systems Initiative.

The Consortium was created to develop and promote a new science of biosocial system dynamics that uses a complex systems paradign, computational thinking and quantitative methods to forge a new and holistic understanding of life and society. Its nearly 50 core faculty and more than 50 affiliated faculty will drive the advancement of transdisciplinary research, real world applications and the education of a new generation of scientists centered on applying complexity sciences and advanced methods to the study of sociality across human and non-human systems.

Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and (5) five years experience in any combination of the following areas: procurement (federal, state, or industrial), proposal submissions, contract negotiation, grant and contract administration and financial administration; AND (3) three years of supervisory experience, OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:
-Exceptional writing skills; editing or publishing experience
-Track record of writing funded proposals
-Familiarity with funding agencies and needs of high-profile faculty
-Intermediate to advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite; PeopleSoft
-Experience analyzing and managing multiple writing assignments, projects and timelines
