Location: Arizona-Phoenix
Schedule: Full-time Phoenix Children's Hospital is the only specialty children's hospital in Arizona and it is poised to become one of the foremost pediatric hospitals in the nation. The hospital is home to the state's largest group of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists. In addition, the hospital continues to evolve its clinical practices and is working with leading local and national research partners to uncover new breakthroughs in pediatric medicine. Currently a 345 bed facility, new construction plans were unveiled in October 2006 that include the building of two new patient bed towers and expansion in bed capacity and other key programs and services over the course of the next several years. In short, PCH is a growing, thriving organization where opportunities for personal development and promotion of our employees will continue in years to come. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Schedules Operating Room, Cath Lab, Radiology, Endoscopy, and/or Bronchoscopy procedures, utilizing appropriate IS systems according to procedure type, utilizing knowledge of physician procedures, privileges, and block time when appropriate. Enters pertinent patient data and specific physician requests. Initiates the billing process by entering pertinent charges and patient information in the PCH charging system. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Activities are performed on an environmentally controlled unit subject to long periods of sitting and data entry; frequently required to bend, lift, push and pull objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer to verify accuracy and readability of information/reports. Must communicate clearly in English. Requires the ability to speak, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties of the job. Effective and positive human relations skills are required, including confidentiality, in order to appropriately interface with all levels of Phoenix Children's Hospital staff, physicians, patients, their families and other contacts. Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completion of a course of study leading to a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Two (2) years experience in scheduling and billing of procedures. 3. Two (2) years experience with computer database systems. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate's degree in health care, business or closely related field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience. Important Notes
