The Accountant II will provide professional financial and analytical support and guidance in an accurate and timely manner within a multi-site, multi-specialty practice with complete cross functional activities. May support activities in one or more of the following areas: General Ledger Accounting, Research Accounting or Management Accounting within an enterprise-wide system covering nation-wide healthcare continuum. The Accountant II will prepare special and recurring reports such as detailed cost and financial analyses, forecasts and projections reflecting interrelationships of accounting data and assist in the preparation of special accounting studies. Will Assist in developing forecasts for proposed organizational projects, measure actual performance against operating plans and standards, interprets the results of operations for all levels of management. Periodically reviews allocation of overhead costs. The Accountant II will review and control accounts and records to ensure accuracy, proper documentation and compliance with all pertinent procedures and regulations. In collaboration with Financial Analyst, prepare financial analyses utilizing analytical methods, knowledge and application of accounting theory and principles.
The Accountant II may lead or coordinate the work of entry level staff.

Department: Finance

Qualifications: Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business-related degree required. Previous accounting experience of three years required. Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Professional certification and/or advanced degree a plus (CPA, CMA, MBA).

Additional Experience and/or

Qualifications:

Possesses and applies a broad knowledge accounting theory, principles, practices, and procedures in the completion of assignments of responsibility. Solid working knowledge of PC software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Word. Experience in a mainframe accounting environment preferred. Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets. Report writing skills a plus. Must have a strong understanding of accounting theories and principles.
