Jobing Description
Provide expert-level service to small business customers and consumers, resulting in optimal delivery of collection results, while maintaining a focus on effective customer interactions that maintain brand loyalty.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Facilitate inbound/outbound credit dunning calls to resolve payment issues that minimize financial risk to American Express.
• Decrease risk to American Express through account analysis and effective fact finding.
• Provide expert-level service to customers. Professionally deliver difficult messages and de-escalate calls.

American Express provides a competitive base pay salary of $16.50 per hour or above based on experience. Collections roles enjoy variable pay associated with collector effectiveness.

Business hours of operations are seven (7) days a week from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Shift differentials for nights and weekends are provided. Candidates must be flexible.

101 & I-17

**Mandatory training for this position is conducted Monday through Friday during the day shift hours.

Skills / Requirements
Strong analytical, self starter with three or more years of collections experience in a call center environment. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to deliver difficult messages and de-escalate calls.
Demonstrated ability to achieve targeted collection goals for contact generation, and dollars collected.
Demonstrated ability to learn new functions and skills in a technical environment. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while analyzing and assessing client needs. Must manage multiple tasks within stringent timeframes while maintaining accuracy. Work independently yet be a team player in a structured environment with minimal supervision.
Proven relationship, negotiation and problem-solving skills with internal, external clients and team members.

Working knowledge of federal and state laws in relation to debt collection, experience with accounting and banking principles.
Proficient PC skills including experience with MS Office products and internet navigation.

High School Diploma or GED required.
