Jobing Description
The Bilingual Customer Service Representative position plays a key role in providing excellent service to our members. Successful candidates are able to fluently communicate both verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish. This position focuses on explaining to members, group representatives, and others a variety of information concerning the organizations’ services.

Bilingual Customer Service Representatives are responsible for answering high volume telephone calls from members, providers and hospitals, as well as multi-tasking on other responsibilities such as processing medical claims, correspondence, and medical precertifications. This is a very structured desk job that can average between 60-80 calls per day from members, providers and hospitals. Eventually, this position requires individuals to meet productivity and accuracy standards of 99.9%.

The Bilingual Customer Service Representative position includes 4-5 months of structured training that incorporates classroom instruction and live production involving processing claims, answering correspondence and responding to member and provider calls. All classroom and live production work is audited, scored, and tracked. Because of the critical nature of this training there is no paid or unpaid time off permitted during the first 90 days of employment and training. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a thirty minute lunch break.

Skills / Requirements
Requirements
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Must be able to speak fluently and write in both languages
• Graduation from high school and nine months experience in medical claims processing work; or
• Two years of varied clerical experience in a related customer service field, including public contact by telephone; or
• Experience in the medical field, or
• Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background; and
• Ability to type 30-35 wpm accurately;
• Computer proficiency: ability to use a personal computer and navigate systems/applications and interpret various windows; research records and files;
• Ability to interpret schedules of benefits or contracts, claims policies and procedures;
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures and communicate this information effectively;
• Ability to handle confidential information and to follow oral and written instructions;
• Ability to work effectively with others;
• Ability to remain customer-focused despite a very busy work day;
• Ability to adapt well to policy or procedural changes;
• Ability to accept direction and support management decisions;
• Ability to have tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers;
• Ability to compose and dictate correspondence tactfully, clearly, and concisely
