Overview: This is a non-benefited - Per diem (as needed) position. Not part-time. This position will assist with care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, for inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities: They will also train to cross cover CNA/HUC roles throughout peri-operative services. Provide care to assigned patients by assisting physician during procedures including but not limited to EGD, Colonoscopy, PEG/PEJ. Bronchoscopy and iagnostic (therapeutic ERCP). Carries out proper technique in disinfecting, isolation and handling of hazardous wastes to prevent spread of infectin. Supports the operations of the endoscopy department by maintenance of all Endoscopy equipment. Assumes on-call duties and responsibilities, assists with scheduling/coordination of procedures and maintains orderliness of the procedure rooms and processing area. Functions as a member of the endoscopy team by promoting a safe environment and maintains BHA Service Excellence program. Requires BLS certification and 1 year experience in a hospital based clinical area. Prefers two years prevous hospital technical experience gained as an Endoscopy Tech but will train an otherwise qualified candidate.

Prefers two years previous hospital clinical (technical experience gained either as an Endoscopy Tech or Operating Room Tech. Needs to be ASGNA certified within one year of hire. Must possess effective organizational, communication and human relations skills. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
