Overview: Join our award winning team at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in East Mesa located on Power Rd. & Broadway. The Certified Pharmacy Technician II will be working in the Pharmacy dept. supporting the hospital needs. This is an on-call, non-benefited position, not part time or full time. Shift will change as well as days off of staffing needs. Responsibilities: Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department, the Pharmacists, Technician Supervisor, and fellow Technicians in providing the correct drugs or IV solutions, in the correct amount, for the correct patients, at the correct time. The Pharmacy Certified Technician works directly under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. This position should consistently demonstrate an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose the appropriate course of action. Questions regarding medications should be referred to a Pharmacist. Individualize care according to age specific needs. Employees of the Pharmacy Department serve patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics.

Requires (or eligible for) pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice (where applicable) and/or technician certification.Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing systems. May be required to posses a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Pharmacy technician experience and current certification preferred. IV compounding and Pyxis experience. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
