Grand Canyon University has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resource Professional with strengths in multi-state employment law and employee relations. As an Employee Relations Specialist at Grand Canyon University, you will:
• Investigate and leads the resolution of employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, terminations, discrimination and situations involving interpersonal conflict in the workplace. • Provide consultation and direction to management and staff on matters pertaining to employee relations activities. • Develops individualized employee relations interventions, creates conflict resolution plans and guides the corrective performance process. • Provide support, counsel and direction to managers on employee relations issues and policy and procedure clarification. Prepares documentation and reports on investigative activities. • Work with managers to research and interpret employment laws, (FLSA, EEOC, etc.) for application to specific employment relations situations. • Assist in conducting internal audits and recommends appropriate action to correct any employment relations issues. • Continually assess employee engagement and morale, and works with managers to develop initiatives to ensure the workplace culture is consistent with the University’s core values. • Conduct audits to identify potential problems and partners with managers to take steps to address conditions before they become problematic. • Track and conducts data analysis of trends and patterns that relate to the employee relations function (exit interviews, complaints, diversity, harassment, corporate culture, etc.). • Builds and fosters strong relationships with all areas of the University. • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. • Other duties as assigned. Skills / Requirements
***You must have prior experience specifically in a Human Resources Dept***
PHR certification desired. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have prior employee relations experience in an HR department, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with accuracy and outstanding customer service skills. Important Notes
