ESTIMATOR
Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in estimating of commercial type glazing applications including storefronts, curtain walls, aluminum windows/doors and caulking. Must be able to measure, quote, order and manage each job in a precise and expedient manner. This position also meets with architects to evaluate and alter window-engineering details, create window system profile drawings and shop drawings using GDS. Essential Functions: • Organize and track all project documentation including plans, specifications, proposals, RFIs, RFPs, ASIs, change orders, invoices, submittals and project closeout manuals • Track all project related expenses, review, monitor, and update schedules and process all paper and phone communications for multiple projects. • Provides administrative support to the construction management team in the ordering, tracking, and release of all materials for new construction, tenant improvements and work orders • Set up and maintain numerous project files, process and track contract and vendor purchase orders, and assist in bid solicitations • Research plans via the online Dodge Report, sent un-requested to our office, or Invitation to Bid from General Contractor via fax. • Log-in all jobs being estimated on bid log and follow-up until project either awarded or lost • Create all job proposals and work order proposal requested or returned from field • When job is awarded, order or create shop drawings, order all submittal packages, prepare project management handbook, and start all pre-production task required prior to field superintendent/lead stepping on jobsite. • Create schedule of values and aid in setting up job costing and accounting procedures • Prepare GDS frame set up for cut lists, material and door orders. • Organize material order and prepare buy-out for all material orders including but not limited too, Storefront, curtain wall, doors, hardware, closers, glass, sealant and other miscellaneous accessories. • Follow up weekly to confirm construction schedule and attend any preconstruction meetings with General Contractor. Pin down exact start date when project is ready and track on excel spreadsheet. Skills / Requirements
• MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL GLASS EXPERIENCE
• 5 years experience supporting multiple projects • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Must be very strong with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office • Knowledgeable in accounting/bookkeeping general practices • Excellent written and verbal skills • Detail oriented and accuracy a must • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and workload • Ability to work independently and productively • Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality of work projects • Excellent phone and people skills • Punctual and stable attendance an absolute must We offer competitive salary, benefits, are an EOE and promote a drug-free work environment.
