Jobing Description
As the lead member of the vocational team, provides pre-vocational and vocational skills development and training in both individual/group, and in/out of office settings. Trains and provides supportive coaching to volunteers while on assigned volunteer projects. Assists volunteers in all psychosocial, pre-vocational and vocational areas of need.
- Develops and maintains a therapeutic effective working relationship with clients that is strengths-based and recovery-focused, engaging and encouraging clients to actively participate in volunteer activities - Facilitates individual/group pre-vocational skills training as assigned; may provide on and/or off-site engagement, support and assistance, as assigned; assesses volunteer skills and abilities in order to aid in matching volunteers appropriate project(s) or tasks - Provides support in the implementation of volunteer training and orientation activities, including transportation of volunteers to project sites - Assists Volunteer Coordinator and Project Specialist in planning and implementing activities - Provides education to volunteer host sites regarding ADA laws (Americans with Disabilities Act), stigma of mental illness, and benefits of hiring persons with mental illness - Under general supervision, develops, documents, and evaluates treatment plans with volunteers; completes all documentation according to established procedures and timelines - Monitors volunteer behaviors, symptoms, and activies, assiting/facilitating crisis intervention and conflict resolution as appropriate, and oversees the safety and well-being of volunteers during volunteer activities - Provides feedback to volunteers on project assignments, providing coaching and mentoring as needed Skills / Requirements
- Master or Bachelor degree in a behavioral health related field
- Bachelor degree in any field, and one (1) year of full-time work experience in behavioral health service delivery, or; - Associate degree and two (2) years of full-time work experience in behavioral health service delivery, or; - High School diploma/GED and a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling a minimum of four (4) years, and; - Current and valid Arizona driver license, good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and; - Fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain during Triple R orientation Important Notes
