Job: Medical Assistant

We are looking for a strong Medical Assistant (MA) for our Sun City West Clinic.

Responsibilities include:

* Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
* Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight,
and height), and records information on patient's chart.
* Returns patient calls including prescription refills, etc.
* May be required to prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
* Prepares rooms for examination of patients.
* Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within orthopedics.
* Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
* Informs patients of costs for care being provided, collects copayments, makes appointments,
and guides patients to appropriate resources for further information.
* Answers telephones, screens callers, relays messages, and greets visitors/patients.
* Coordinates operating rooms, schedules of surgeons, and necessary assistants and equipment
needed for the procedure.
* Gather and records financial and insurance information.
* Distributes pre and post-operative information to patient.

Skills/ Requirements
Requires a high school diploma and medical assistant certificate or diploma. Two years medical assistant experience in a medical clinic. Experience in orthopedics is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
