Jobing Description

We are a private, non-profit organization committed to providing excellent primary health care, serving our community for 30 years and we have an opportunity in our Phoenix and Wickenburg Centers.
Reporting to the Health Center Manager, you would share responsibility for leading the administrative and clinical support staff, and coordinating activities with providers and administration to manage appointments, patient flow, and related systems and processes to provide quality services to patients in a safe and positive environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Monitor and evaluate staff performance for quality purposes in addition to determining merit increases, promotions, disciplinary actions and maintenance of appropriate personnel documentation.
-Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
-Assure compliance with applicable federal state and local legislation, e.g.,FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA, etc.
-Organize staff's daily work activities and schedules.
-Supervise the creation, disposition, delivery and filing of medical charts, x-rays, and other documents in a timely manner.
-Manage patient eligibility determination and enrollment process in various programs through the electronic HealthE application, including AHCCCS, AZ Primary Care Program, sliding fee discounts, self-pay and other third party insurers. Ensure compliances are met with regular audits/improvement activities.
-Provide strong attention to detail with respect to scheduling, billing, and maintenance of records.
-Monitor appointments, patient flow and waiting areas to improve daily productivity.
-Ensure that patients and visitors are treated courteously by all clinical staff.
-Document and resolve patient complaints.
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, management, and staff.
-Ensure federal, state, administration, and accrediting body compliance for quality patient care.
-Support and implement Clinica Adelante's goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems.
-Monitor and control clinic expenditures, review and approve all orders and maintain supply inventory.
-Assure that all equipment is maintained in good repair or is replaced as needed and monitor building and grounds for cleanliness.
-Conduct Sliding Fee Scale (SFS) audits.
-Assure daily deposits are made and completion of day sheet reconciliations.
-Maintain a clean, neat, and functional facility.
-Coordinate with Center Support for inventory control, facilities management, and maintenance of equipment.
-Maintain high level of customer satisfaction as reflected on patient satisfaction surveys and other measurement tools.

Skills / Requirements
-A minimum of five (5) years healthcare experience, with at a minimum of two (2) years supervisor/management responsibility
- Medical Assistant Certification or RN
-Basic Knowledge of Medical front and back office functions
-Valid AZ driver's license
-The ability to solve problems using a logical, systematic approach;
-Demonstrated management, leadership, diplomacy, and customer service skills, including ability to supervise and motivate staff.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of medical practices and medical terminology with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients, physicians, management, and staff
-Manage own time productively and efficiently; fulfills commitments once they are made
-Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring exercise of independent judgment
-Understands and uses technology infrastructure (email, web-based tools, internet, etc,) and applications (Excel, Word, etc.,) appropriate for the performance of his/her job;
-Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and social status
-Must be able to help others to increase their knowledge skills and abilities to enable them to perform better in their current position
-The ability to set goals and accurately measure and evaluate skills and expertise of staff members in the context of the relevant job description and engage staff members in regular performance feedback discussions
-Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork within work unit and across departmental/organizational lines in a clinical site environment;
-Able to plan and deliver oral and written information clearly. Selects language and examples tailored to the level and experience of the audience


These are a plus:
-Bilingual (Spanish/English)
-Bachelor's degree or BSN
-Five years direct experience managing a primary care outpatient medical center with at least five (5) FTE providers and 10,000 patients/year or 25,000 encounters/year
-Experience with management information systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
