POSITION SUMMARY:
Group and individual therapy will be provided to individuals in the community with alcohol or substance abuse histories; court ordered referrals; DUI screenings and evaluations; and various related presenting problems. The therapist will assess, evaluate, diagnose, select approach to be used for the client treatment program, and maintain client records, as well as all data required by the agency. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide and document coordination of care between primary care physicians and this agency. • Demonstrate accurate documentation that supports the diagnosis and services rendered. • Complete individualized treatment plans with clients as needs change or as updates are needed or required. • Activity Logs/billing sheets are completed and turned into data department within 24 hours of the service being provided. • Work cooperatively with other staff on the team, as well as with staff from other departments. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: Masters degree in counseling or social work. One year experience in Chemical dependency counseling. LISAC Licensed. Ability to work occasional evening hours. PREFERRED: Masters degree in counseling or social work from an approved school and three years counseling experience, and licensure by Arizona Board of Behavioral health Examiners (ABBHE). KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge and background of Outpatient behavioral health population. Must be knowledgeable of community resources available. Must be familiar with current psychotropic medications and side effects. Must be experienced and trained in crisis intervention. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Ability to read/speak fluent English, bilingual optional. Must be able to gather and interpret information about a client's dependence. Must have knowledge of the natural history of dependence. Must have an understanding of the bio-psychosocial influences and effects of dependencies. Must have an understanding of the range of treatment needed by chemically dependent individuals. Must have knowledge of available treatment resources and their Appropriate use. Important Notes
