Position Title: Concealed Weapons Permit Office Assistant Department/Division: Concealed Weapons Permit Unit, Licensing & Regulatory Bureau Workplace Address: 2102 W. Encanto Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85009 Number of Hours/Week: Flexible, minimum of 6 hours per week. Days of Work Week: Monday through Friday Start/End Hours: Flexible between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Will work with applicant’s work or school schedule. This is a perfect opportunity for a retired, semi-retired individual. Position Description: This position provides clerical assistance to the Concealed Weapons Permit Unit customers and staff. Specific duties may include: answering incoming phone calls; greeting customers; processing incoming and/or outgoing mail; distributing incoming faxes and mailings; shredding; inserting letters, permit cards or renewal applications into envelopes; quality controlling new and/or renewal permit applications; stamping unique numbers on permit applications; preparing packages of new permit applications and related supplies; stocking office supplies; other clerical duties as assigned. Once the application is completed and returned to Human Resources, the application will be reviewed and individuals may be selected for an interview. Upon successful completion of the interview process, the applicant will be scheduled for a polygraph examination, drug screening and background investigation. Qualifications: Requires a combination of customer service, general office experience, the use of personal computers and various office machines. Volunteers may assist at their level of ability and will be trained in specific tasks.
