Paramedic Basic – Part Time Pinal
Position Summary: Provide general medical care and treatment to patients in both emergent and non-emergent settings as defined by the Arizona Department of Health Services Scope of Practice for Paramedic. Essential Functions: Neatly and accurately document pertinent patient information on ambulance run tickets, patient refusal forms, and transport forms. Ability to work cooperatively with other employees, management and medical agencies. Provide the highest level of patient care, excellent communication and customer service while representing Southwest Ambulance. Maintain a safe and healthy workplace in accordance to the standards set forth by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and the Southwest Ambulance Standard Operating Procedures. Exhibit ability to perform ALS functions, following protocols set forth by the State of Arizona. Pinal is an emergency first responder and therefore 1 year of current EMS experience is required in order to be considered for this opportunity. You must be available to work at least 36 hours per month in order to retain employment status with Southwest Ambulance. Skills / Requirements
Qualifications:
Applicants MUST be 21 years of age - Qualified candidates must have an acceptable driving record per company policy guidelines. A 60-month MVR will be obtained by Southwest Ambulance if a contingent offer of employment is extended. Arizona State Driver License - Current National Registry certification card AZ State certification card - Current ACLS card – Current CPR card - Current PALS card – Current Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds when needed and move object/materials to locations that might be up to 100 feet away. Cognitive/Psychosocial Requirements: Ideal Candidates will have the ability to follow simple and complex written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and understand English Working Conditions: Candidates must be able to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold and moisture. Southwest Ambulance is a 365, 24/hr. per day, 7day per week operation. This could include evenings, weekends, and holidays. ATTENTION: Current Southwest Ambulance employees who would be interested in this position need to be made aware of the following. You will not be able to stay employed by Southwest Ambulance in a Full Time capacity if you transfer/apply for this position and are hired. You would be drop to Part Time status. By doing so all benefits, union seniority privileges’ would be negated. A completed transfer form must be submitted to the Human Resources Department for consideration. Important Notes
