Under the direction of the supervisor/manager and in consultation with the radiologist or other physician, performs all diagnostic/therapeutic procedures per protocol, using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Reviews procedure orders for appropriateness as based on patients' clinical history and department protocols. Consults with physicians, or other clinical staff, to obtain order revisions as needed. Performs image capture, quality assurance assessment, and image storage using PACS technology. Performs procedural data entry and patient charge operations using appropriate hospital software package. The staff member may be required to provide coverage at all three hospital campuses. & The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures.
Technologists must obtain their advanced ARRT credential in CT no later than 18 months after their hire date in order to maintain their classification in this job. Should the credential not be obtained in the specified time, a technologist in good standing is eligible to apply for open positions in other job classifications for which they have the appropriate credentials.

Basic Education: High School Diploma or GED Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiography program or US military Radiography training program. Basic Experience None Basic Field-of-Expertise ARRT(R) credential AZ State MRTBE(R) license
