Job: Teacher - Special Education

ABA offers an exciting array of professional opportunities for Special Education Certified Teachers for the 09/10 school year. ABA currently operates 5 private school sites in Maricopa County: Dysart, Tempe, Tolleson, Coolidge and Chandler. We provide educational and behavioral health support services to children and families with special needs. The disability categories served at each site vary, but include ED, LD, MIMR/MOMR, MD, HI, and Autism.

ABA is looking for a certified ED/Cross Categorical Teacher for our Coolidge site. (Please do not respond if Coolidge is not an acceptable drive for you). Our program is growing and we would like you to join our team.

Description:
Private, for-profit company seeks qualified talent to provide direct instruction to students (6-10) with special needs in a self-contained setting. Openings are for the upcoming school year (2009/2010)starting in September. Teacher Responsibilities include: development and implementation of student IEPs in accordance with district and state standards; weekly planning for student instruction and evaluation; collaboration with classroom instructional assistants, instructional staff, and administrative staff toward identified school quality improvement measures; and, provision of daily/weekly/monthly reporting on students' academic and behavioral progress in accordance with identified objectives.

Teacher Skills and Requirements:

Special Education Teacher Certification in one or more of the following categories (ED, LD, and/or Cross Categorical) - will accept individuals with a substitute certification with experience.

Previous experience working with special needs children in self-contained settings (preferred)

Ability to obtain a DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card

Bilingual in English/Spanish (a plus)
