Primary Functions:
Provides leadership and coordination of the company’s financial operations and budget management functions. Manages the internal accounting function and ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles as well as State, Federal, and Contractor accounting guidelines and any other regulatory guidelines. Supervises the accounting and financial processes and personnel, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with all reporting requirements. Consistently produces accurate financial information, prepares company financial statements for both internal and external reporting, monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget, safeguards the company’s assets and strengthens financial controls, identifies and eliminates deficiencies in department operations, assists in preparing and maintaining the company’s budget, manages the company’s annual independent financial audit and presents financial reports to other members of management. Supervises a team consisting of middle management and accounting department staff in the performance of related duties toward the accomplishment of organizational goals.


Skills / Requirements
Knowledge and Ability:
Requires strong working knowledge of accounting systems, policies and procedures, GAAP and financial management. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, possess good verbal and written communication skills and be able to multi-task and identify priorities to stay organized and meet deadlines. Must be able to communicate with different levels of management, maintain productive working relationships with company staff and be able to independently manage complex tasks. Requires knowledge and ability to manage an automated accounting system, proficiency in Excel and experience with complex spreadsheets. Must demonstrate solid decision making and effective problem solving skills.

Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. Requires five years related experience in accounting or finance. Master’s degree or CPA preferred. Experience working within a managed healthcare environment is desired but not required. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may substitute for any of the latter. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Experience working within a managed healthcare environment is desired. Great Plains and FRx experience beneficial.
