Hiring Range $17.53-$21.91 D.O.E
The purpose of this position is to operate and maintain the Wastewater Treatment Facility in accordance with all environmental regulatory laws, rules, and regulations. This is accomplished by performing plant operations; conducting lab testing; performing equipment readings; operating belt filter press; conducting data entry; and providing janitorial services. Other duties include maintaining State Wastewater License; attending staff meetings and training; and providing suggestions for improvements and solutions in operational procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs plant operations by making regular rounds of plant and checking to make certain it is operating in compliance of the required parameters; changing chlorine containers; cleaning and maintaining plant equipment; ensuring proper operation; and maintaining logs of all shift activities.
Operates belt filter press by making adjustments to chemical feeds; and operating front-end loader, dump truck and fork-lift to move bio-solids into drying beds and windows.
Conducts data entry by entering all collected data from meter readings; monitoring equipment performance and making adjustments as needed; inputting data from laboratory test results.
Performs equipment readings by recording and collecting plant equipment meter readings; entering readings into the database and checking the accuracy of new and prior readings.
Conducts lab testing by taking accurate amounts of samples tests using standard methods for assessing levels of chlorine residuals and ammonia testing.
Skills / Requirements
Poses a valid Arizona Watewater Operator Certification Grade 1
Poses a valid Arizona Class D Drivers License
High School diploma or equivelent (GED)
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to maintain respiratory program requirement for SCBA

May require working alone as a solo operator on a shift
May require working in confined spaces
May require occassional heavy lifting
Requires the use of SCBA other personal protective equipment
