Salary:$13.32 - $17.98 Hourly
Salary Information:Offering salary will be made between the minimum to midpoint of the posted salary range for this position, based on qualifications and experience. Employees may progress through the full salary range, subject to their successful performance and annual budget approval.
Under general supervision, the Breakfast Cook plans and prepares meals at the ACIC Elderly Center. 
 Minimum Qualifications:

Experience equivalent to three years commercial food service, food preparation, or closely related work.  Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card. Must be CPR and First Aid certified within one year of hire. Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements. Must successfully complete a background check.
 Examples of Duties:
  • Prepares breakfast daily.
  • Determines food, equipment and utensils necessary for meal preparation.
  • Washes, peels, and cuts fruits and vegetables according to recipe directions; prepares food for meals according to menu.
  • Orders/purchases foods, supplies, and related materials needed for meal/snack preparation.
  • Mixes beverages according to manufacturers directions.
  • Prepares list of all foods and supplies used.
  • Maintains monthly food and beverage inventory records.
  • Sets up, cleans and sanitizes serving and dining areas; washes dishes, pots and pans, trays and food preparation equipment and appliances daily.
  • Cleans refrigerator, freezer, stove and counter tops.
  • Serves food to elderly.
  • Prepares menus and a variety of food service related reports. 
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

 Other Requirements:
  • Knowledge of general food service practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations pertinent to commercial food handling.
  • Knowledge of dietary needs of the population served.
  • Skill in using a wide variety of commercial restaurant equipment.
  • Skill in preparing, cooking and serving foods according to dietary needs of clients.
  • Skill in developing special menus that meet the dietary and health needs of population served.
  • Skill in mixing and handling hazardous cleaning chemicals.
  • Skill in lifting and moving large, heavy and/or bulky pots and food supplies.
  • Skill in following written and oral directions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with regulatory agencies (i.e. ITCA - Inter Tribal Council of Arizona and HIS Indian Health Services), tribal members, upper management, and co-workers.
  • Skill in cleaning restaurant equipment, dishes, pots and pans.
  • Skill in cleaning and maintaining food preparation and dining areas in accordance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 30 lbs. on a daily basis
  • Must be able to stand for up to six (6) hours at a time.
