QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Three years experience in accounting from original entry to financial statements (financial institution preferred), and three years supervisory/managerial experience required. Experience in the production of financial reports including variance footnotes and development of closing documents. Ability to reconcile complex general ledger accounts.  Understanding of automated accounting applications. Proficiency in computer applications in Windows and Excel is required.  Ability to type 45 words per minute. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, financial reports, legal documents and government regulations.  Ability to write business correspondence in response to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively while presenting information to the board of directors and groups of members and/or managers.  Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to apply mathematical concepts to determine and test reliability and validity.

 OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manage the departments priorities and workloads, ensure timely closure of period-end accounting activity and the generation of accurate and informative reports for end-users. Maintain general ledger integrity in accordance with GAAP.  Review all general ledger reconciliation’s and ensure controls and standards are in place to manage outstanding items.  Lead and supervise direct reports to ensure consistent, accurate, courteous and efficient service and accurate, timely and efficient reporting of accounting activity.  Maintain the professional standards of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
