ACT Substance Abuse Specialist

As a member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
clinical team, will function as the substance abuse specialist on the ACT Team.
ACT team members provide the highest level of care in the Maricopa County
behavioral health system.
general supervision, provides chemical dependency treatment, direct and
indirect, covered services and treatment to individual clients, coordinates
with community supports and stakeholders. Responsible for managing appointment schedule, assigned caseload as a
clinical liaison, conducting assessments, implementing treatment plans,
facilitating out-of-office services, performing crisis services when needed,
and participate in ongoing learning experiences and treatment team consultation
degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health related field
and four years of full time behavioral health work experience.
- Knowledge and understanding in general
mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and serious mental
- 1 year substance experience in
permanent supportive abuse treatment, supportive employment
training/experience, job recruitment experience.
- Previous SMI experience
a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under automobile

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary team in
providing treatment for clients.
communicate with and coordinate services with other treatment providers

- Manage and monitor individually
personal contact with client/families and not exceeding 30 days.
