Tribal Driving Permit Required: YesDISTINGUSIHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:The Transit Dispatch Supervisor is primarily responsible for performing: dispatch coverage, effective telephone
communication, preparing operations work schedules, indoor and ?eld customer service, ?eld safety and accident
investigation, training control and enforcement. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating customer
service assistance, research complaints and resolve issues and potential disciplinary actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise the daily operations and scheduling of Gila River Transit bus operations, pull-outs, on-time
adherence and route deviations. Monitor’s the transit GPS TSO system and generates monthly reports.
Coordinates a positive customer service experience by receiving, recording, and investigating complaints and
comments, by gathering facts, providing explanations and solutions, and distributing information. Receives
and answers public calls for information and assistance, and coordinates lost and found system. Maintain daily
log book of all telephone, written, and other communication regarding all operational activities.Assists the Transportation Manager with training and refresher training in the following areas: passenger
sensitivity/technical classroom and behind-the-wheel training, driving techniques, safety procedures, bus
equipment, route understanding, and vehicle pro?ciency.Ensure vehicles are safe and in good operating order by coordinating preventive maintenance checks and other
repairs as needed with the Department of Transportation mechanics and approved vendors. Review Driver
Vehicle Inspection (DVI) form daily noting and taking appropriate action for all reported defects, and
verifying accuracy of data.Ensure vehicle cleanliness and coordinates monthly detailed vehicle bus washing.Create and maintain accurate vehicle repair/PMI logs, inventory logs and fuel log. Ensure that vehicle ADA
equipment, mobile phone, and GPS/Garmin system are in good operating order. Ensure that bus operators
operate GRIC vehicle in compliance with FTA guidelines, GRIC Rules of Safety and Security and the
Department of Transportation policies.Respond to and investigates accidents/incidents by taking pictures and preparing reports.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Knowledge of transit bus operations which includes operation and scheduling.
Knowledge of conduct post accident/incident investigations.Knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies that affect public transit operations.
Knowledge of transit buses and equipment.Ability to provide training to bus operators on safety operating transit buses.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of bus operator and passenger information.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written instructions.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Members,
and the riding public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in transit
operations which included one (1) year of supervisory experience, or any combination of education, training,
and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving record for
the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be
submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
application.Required to possess and maintain throughout duration of employment a Class B Arizona Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL) with a "P" (passenger) endorsement or ability to obtain a "P" endorsement within 60 days of
employment.Required to successfully complete the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) and/or Community
Transportation Association of America (CTAA) "Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Trainer
and Driver Certification" (Train the Trainer) within one (1) year of employment.Required to obtain Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle Commercial Driver’s License Examiner Certif1cation
within one (1) year of employment.Required to complete a Federal Transit Administration pre-employment drug test.Supervisory, Salaried Position
