Position Goal: The Facility Ranger assists in the rental of school facilities by monitoring school facilities, verifying rental permits and providing a safe and secure environment for users.

High School Diploma or GED required
Must possess valid Arizona Driver's License
Must establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisor and other District employees
Be able to problem solve, identify issues and create action plans
Must have a basic knowledge of computer usage, keyboarding and applications
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Being responsible for building security including locking, unlocking and responding to alarm calls
Patrolling sites by District vehicle to ensure sites are secure and are being used by an organization that has a proper permit
Providing security and custodial assistance at events when needed
Maintaining appropriate safety practices and ensure that Governing Board Policies related to security, safety, and conduct are followed
Confronting unauthorized users of facilities; escort them off of property; calls police for assistance if non-compliant
Reporting safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly and patient manner
Working cooperatively with students, teachers, administrators, vendors, community members and other groups in an educational setting
Being flexible and performing other duties relating to general job function as assigned by supervisor
Maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Using safe driving practices
Operating and caring for school district’s equipment properly
Following district safety and facility use policies and procedures as outlined
Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to and finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to move about the District. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Schedule: Support Staff Initial Salary Placement Range K
Benefits: Per District policy
Contract: 10 months
Hours: Part-time 24 hours per week
Reports to: Coordinator of Community Education
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
